Vibrant Skin Bar: Two Years of Our Favorite MedSpa

The week before the official 2-year-anniversary celebration, we asked some of our staff about how it is working at Vibrant Skin Bar, and here’s what they told us…

What is your favorite part of working at Vibrant Skin Bar?

• Jenna Hilton, M.S., PA-C & Injector: My favorite part of working at Vibrant Skin Bar is interacting with a team of like-minded women who are hardworking, genuine, dedicated to education and being a positive light for our patients to support their own healing and growth.
• Julie Lucchessi, MSN, FNP-C & Injector: My favorite part of working at Vibrant Skin Bar is working with the staff! I love working with everyone here because they make me a better person, friend, and injector.
• Jalair Whitman, Aesthetician/Laser Tech: My absolute favorite part of working at Vibrant Skin Bar is seeing my clients and co-workers! They have all become like close friends and family to me. I don’t “go to work”, I go to see my friends! And as a bonus, I get to make them feel beautiful and cared for.  The relationships I have developed with both my clients and my co-workers are priceless.

What is the greatest benefit of working in a medspa such as Vibrant Skin Bar?

• Jenna: At Vibrant Skin Bar, we don't cut any corners when it comes to excellence and luxury. From our educational experience, being knowledgeable of best practices and latest techniques, to medical devices, technology, and equipment, we aim to achieve the very best for our patients.
• Julie: The education and training I receive is such an amazing benefit to working at Vibrant.
• Jalair: Having the opportunity to work at a location like Vibrant Skin Bar is a dream. The quality of everything that goes into a MedSpa makes a huge difference on the client expedite and the outcome of the treatments. Vibrant Skin Bar provides all of its employees with the most beautiful location, top of the line equipment and products, and any training each individual provider needs to become an expert at their craft and thrive.

What has been your biggest challenge in the past two years, and how did you overcome it?

• Jenna: Our biggest challenge was overcoming the challenges of dealing with a global pandemic 6 months after opening. We pivoted, shifted, and tried our best to overcome challenges and meet the needs of our quarantined patients.
• Jalair: I have had a really hard time narrowing down the specific treatments I want to focus on. I love doing all the treatments we offer at Vibrant Skin Bar, but I know my time would be best used focusing on certain treatments. I would feel bad turning my clients to someone else because “I no longer do that service”.

What are some of the challenges that may happen often in your job?

• Julie: Some of the challenges that present in my job are patient cancellations last minute, patient no shows, and treating patients with unrealistic expectations.
• Jalair: The most challenging aspect of my job is by far scheduling and cancelations. With COVID, the number of cancellations or no-shows has increased dramatically. Many people don’t get charged the cancellation fee because their credit card doesn’t go through. Now the time they reserved prevented someone else from booking that spot and the provider makes no money.

What do you love the most about your job?

• Jenna: I love being able to treat patients with multiple modalities to achieve their goals and support their confidence. Aesthetic procedures, IV therapy, and HRT are used to support healthy aging techniques to glow from within. 
• Julie: I love learning and then using my knowledge to teach and educate patients as well as nurses wanting to learn more about being an injector.  I also love making someone feel better about themselves!
• Jalair: Helping people find confidence in their bare skin is the most rewarding feeling I’ve ever experienced! I love transforming my clients’ skin and body into something that helps them hold their head higher and not have to hide behind make up or hair covering their face! I love providing the self-care my clients need to de-stress, recharge, and glow!

What do you hope to experience at work in the next year?

• Jenna: I hope to be able to return to having regular "hang-outs" with the Vibe Tribe to raise our vibrations and pass along to our guests and patients.
• Julie: The same as the past two years! Educating myself and growing with the rest of the staff and growing our clientele.
• Jalair: I hope to get intentional with the services I want to offer and focus on that. I also would love to provide trainings through Vibrant for aesthetic services…similar to what the injectors do for injector training.

Persuade a person who has never been to VSB to come in for your favorite treatment, in one sentence!

In the end, we were a bit personal and asked the ladies what they wanted clients to know about them.

• Julie: I want patients to know that I was a firefighter for 15 years and a mom of three!
• Jalair: Skin care was not my first love!! I have a deep passion for dance that started when I was 3! I began teaching when I was 14 and stopped when we opened Vibrant Skin Bar in Arcadia! Skin is my number one, but I will always have a special place in my heart for the love of Dance💃 Before meeting my husband, I traveled the world performing and competing!  I am Married to the love of my life that treats me like a queen every day! I have 3 amazing Bonus kids and 1 sweet little girl together. When I am not working, I am spending time with my family ❤️

Anything you'd like to add that we didn't cover?

• Jenna: The girls at Vibrant Skin Bar truly care about their patients and each other. I was feeling sad and emotional at work one day. I wasn't sure where the emotions were coming from (later I determined it was from my kids going to kindergarten and 1st grade), but the entire tribe made me a beautiful, supportive card and flowers just to support me and validate my feelings. I haven't worked in an environment like this in the past.
• Julie: I love our activities and trips together! I’m so grateful for the friendships I have made with staff as well as clients!!
• Jalair: I have always felt so loved and appreciated by all the members of the Vibe Tribe! From recognizing me on my birthday, to supporting me during breast cancer awareness month, and even voting for me every day for 2 months to help me win the Best Facial award! I always know they are here for me. Some of my favorite things to do for them are to do treatments on them when I can, and bring everybody coffee, treats, or lunch. I want to make sure they all know how much I appreciate them!! It’s extremely rare in the beauty industry to have a team that is truly cheering each other on! I will never take that for granted! I love our Vibe Tribe!!❤️❤️❤️
