We Are So Thankful for You This Thanksgiving Season!

The Thanksgiving season encourages us to think about the many things in our lives we are grateful for and to find new ways to express that gratitude. As we wrap up our first year in business, we would like to take the opportunity to express our gratitude for our patients, colleagues and friends. We are thankful you have chosen our med spa, and we are very appreciative for the relationships we have formed. Trusting us with your most intimate concerns and appearance is not a responsibility we take lightly. We are always particularly mindful of how fortunate we are to have the honor to care for you.

Thanksgiving feast

As part of your care, we would like to shine a spotlight on the fact that November is National Healthy Skin Month and want to give you some insight on how you can learn to keep your skin healthy from the inside out. Eating a healthy diet can produce long term results, in fact, 80% of what goes on with our skin is internal. The things we eat and what our body ingests emotionally and physically has a great impact on the overall appearance and condition of our skin. A healthy diet includes a mixture of raw minerals, vitamins and other nutrients, acids, phytochemicals, omegas and other useful compounds that our skin and body need on a daily basis.

Eating seasonally and as close to the source as possible is not only nutritionally dense, it supports a healthy microbiome for gut and brain health. It’s also more environmentally sustainable than eating food grown and shipped from afar. Ancient health traditions such as Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hold that our body and mind are primed to receive different types of nourishment in rhythm with nature’s cycles and that seasonal eating aligns with these shifts within our bodies.

“Nature gives us what we need when we need it,” says Elson Haas, MD, founder and director of the Preventive Medical Center in San Rafael, Calif., and author of Staying Healthy With the Seasons.” In the fall, our livers increase fat production to prepare us for winter which ramps up glucose production for use by the brain. From pumpkin and apples to turkey and kale, many of the beloved fall foods arm our skin with all the right nutrients needed for the season. If you want to score clear, glowing and hydrated skin, check out the top foods of the season:

1. Pumpkin

Perhaps the most famous of all fall foods, pumpkin packs a major punch of nourishment, even in small amounts and especially for your skin. Pumpkins are an ultimate beauty food because they're rich in beta-carotene known to stimulate collagen production. Vitamin A also helps protect our cells and skin from damaging free radicals in the environment and is important for eye health and age-related diseases. Packed full of additional vitamins and minerals such as zinc, it is an excellent acne-fighter and promoter of cell turnover for renewal. It's also full of natural enzymes which make it a great topical mask to dissolve flaky skin cells and it is included in our featured Pumpkin facial treatment this month.

2. Pumpkin seeds

Pumpkin seeds are packed with zinc, vitamins A, C and K, and omega-3 fatty acids that help produce sebum to protect and repair your skin. Omega 3 also soothes inflammation and reduces fine lines and wrinkles by 33%.

3. Apples

Apple picking is a fun fall activity and a cup of apple cider is a nice way to cuddle up on a cold night. Apples help build collagen, increase levels of copper in the skin to aid cellular renewal and aid in healthy skin elasticity. Eating an apple a day will not only keep the doctor away, but it will also help you maintain glowing, healthy skin.

5. Pomegranate

Pomegranate is a powerful fruit rich in polyphenols that help detox the skin of free radicals while also repairing skin damaged from environmental factors such as UV radiation. Not only does pomegranate contain about 48% of your daily vitamin C, it also contains other antioxidants such as anthocyanins, ellagic acid, and tannins. Pomegranate is one of the ultimate blockers of free radical damage, one of the biggest causes of aging.

5. Sweet Potatoes

As fall temperatures drop, be sure to have your fair share of sweet potatoes. For that desirable dewy glow, sweet potatoes are full of beta-carotene, vitamin D and anthocyanins. These nutrients work hard in the body to neutralize oxidative stress and age-related damage to cells. Sweet potatoes are also great for maintaining skin suppleness with the use of potassium and pantothenic acid.

6. Butternut squash

Sweet and savory, a tasty and delicious fall ingredient, butternut squash boosts the skin with vitamin E, thiamin, niacin, vitamin B-6, folate, pantothenic acid, and manganese. One serving of butternut squash provides over 50 percent of the required vitamin C intake for a day. Vitamin C helps build and maintain collagen, which provides structure to skin and hair.

7. Turkey

The traditional bird eaten on Thanksgiving won’t just put you in a tryptophan coma, it will give you a boost in the vitamin selenium. Selenium boosts the effectiveness of Vitamin E to fight free radicals and assists skin elasticity and flexibility. In fact, a 3 ounce serving of turkey contains 44 percent of your daily selenium needs. If you would like to opt out on turkey this thanksgiving, Brazil nuts contain 100 percent of your daily selenium needs and are a great alternative.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

Hello September!

Hello September! Along with changing weather, each new season brings with it, new trends. From trending fall fashion and home décor to new seasonal foods and health crazes, a trend is essentially a movement from one place to the next. A change in season is the perfect time to implement new health trends that focus on wellness of the moment. Health trends are movements that allow us to incorporate a specific way of life or lifestyle to help us reach and accomplish new health goals. As temperatures start to cool down and kids return to school it is especially important for us to focus on habits that allow us to boost immunity. The human immune system is complex and influenced by many factors such as diet, lifestyle, emotions, and sleep habits. A balanced diet consisting of a range of vitamins and minerals, combined with healthy lifestyle factors like adequate sleep, regular exercise, meditation, and the reduction of environmental toxins, effectively prime the immune system to fight infection and disease. A disciplined fall season prepares us for the holidays and winter months to come. Listed below are some health hacks to help boost your immune system this fall.

1. DRINKING MINERAL DENSE WATER

Staying hydrated has a slew of health benefits, from optimizing your metabolic rate and bringing more oxygen to your cells to anti-aging benefits such as the elimination of body waste. But not all water is created equal. The water you consume should be naturally occurring mineral dense water or Spring water. Mineral Dense water is bottled at its source and contains minerals particularly calcium and magnesium that are essential for proper body function and overall hydration.  When we demineralized water or purify it with modalities such as reverse osmosis our intestines must add electrolytes through a process called Osmosis and these minerals are pulled from the body’s reserve potentially causing our bodies to become mineral deficient. Everyone should consume at least half their body weight in ounces daily to properly hydrate cells. You will also want to store your water in a plastic free container such as glass or stainless steel.

2. ENVIROMENTAL TOXINS

Many plastic containers contain bisphenol A, or BPA. This chemical is a hormone disruptor and very hard to flush out of our bodies. It is also almost impossible to remove from our environment. Research estimates that our bodies process over one million toxins each day. Toxins in our bodies come from pesticides sprayed on our food, coffee and wine during farming, Teflon from our cookware, added chemicals in our cosmetics, fluoride in our toothpaste and added bleach and chlorine in our water. All these toxins can put a burden our bodies so our first line of defense should be to reduce exposure and second should be to detox them from the body once they are there. At Vibrant Skin Bar we frequently recommend the use of Osmosis Wellness Skin Defense capsules, daily consumption of Chia seeds and/or chlorophyll in your water and regular Infrared Sweat Body Wraps to assist in this process. Osmosis Skin Defense is a powerful supplement that contains activated charcoal and DIM to binds and remove heavy metals, estrogen toxins, pesticides, plastics, and food preservatives. This supplement may help transform your health, restore hormone balance, clear skin, and strengthen the immune system for a healthier you. This detox supplement should be taken at least quarterly, and some may need it on a more regular basis.

3. EMF EXPOSURE

Electromagnetic radiation surrounds us in everyday life from sources like our cell phones, Wi-Fi routers and microwaves. Some forms of electromagnetic radiation are known to be harmful, and other forms are more controversial. Did you know that talking on your cell phone for one hour may lower the antioxidants in your saliva by up to 25%? Saliva is critical for many reasons, including its purpose to fight pathogens and it is one of our first lines of defense against microbial infections entering through the mouth. It is recommended to use your speaker whenever possible and eat SUPER FOODS with high anti-oxidant levels to try and replenish what is lost. Not only does EMF exposure have thermal and biological impacts on our bodies, but electronic devices emit positively charged ions as well. High concentrations of positive ions, also known as oxidants or free radicals can disrupt our bodies’ natural frequency. One of the best ways to counteract this imbalance is to become one with the earth with a practice known as “grounding”. Grounding is done by standing barefoot on the ground allowing our cells to have direct contact with the surface of the Earth to move negatively charged ions from the earth into our bodies. This practice can help neutralize the positively charged oxidants and help increase our immune fighting capabilities. At Vibrant Skin Bar we love encouraging the practice of “grounding” and encourage our patients to become “grounded” before a treatment by incorporating a copper footbath in the beginning of our signature facial. Copper Basins have been known for generations for their healing properties and ionized copper was used in ancient Egypt as a way to purify water. Simply soaking feet in a copper bowl encourages the removal of negative Ions, stimulates a healthier immune system, assists with joint pain and relieves tension with increased blood flow.

4. SUPER FOODS

Super Foods are power foods that are abundant in minerals and vitamins. Your daily calorie consumption should be jammed backed with the nutrients and food that has high vibrational energy so that the body can function optimally. Nutrition is an ever-evolving science, and we have come a long way since the days of Worls War I when the banana was named the first Super Food. Here is a few of the Vibe Tribe’s favorite super foods: Avocado, Turmeric, Pomegranate seeds, Goji Berries, Acai, Camu Camu, Raw Cacao, Chlorella, Spirulina, Hemp, Maca, Kale, and so many more. Think of this list as superheroes for your body.

5. INCREASED OXYGEN LEVELS

Did you know that 90% of our body’s energy comes from Oxygen? Did you also know that most bacteria and viruses cannot live in a well oxygenated environment? Oxygen is the most important nutrition of our cells. Every function in our body is dependent on oxygen and it is the power source within our bodies. There are five simple ways to increase the oxygen levels in our body. They are- drinking water, breathing fresh air in nature, eating iron rich foods, exercise and deep breathing through your nose. It is very important that we are breathing through our nose and not are mouth since our nose is our filtration system for environmental toxins and viruses. When we breathe through our mouth we also may take in too much carbon dioxide causing the brain to trigger the anodes to press against the nose and stop the intake of oxygen allowing for about 18% oxygen intake and possibly causing snoring, fatigue and attention deficit. For those patients needing a little help raising their oxygen levels we suggest the additional of Osmosis Wellness Immune Activator. This unique supplement contains stabilized oxygen molecules in the form of Ozone and may give you the boost you need.

All of these health trends are very easy to incorporate into your daily lives and can give you and your body added balance to live a life full of Vibrancy and well-being. Here’s to Fall!

Mindfulness

As we wind down our summer vacations and start to turn our focus on going back to school and establishing routine, we are also faced with lingering uncertainty and perhaps some fear. To relieve some of the burden of the mind we ask you to use the month of August to focus on the practice of mindfulness. Mindfulness is a practice of maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment, through a gentle, nurturing lens. When we practice mindfulness, our thoughts tune into what we are sensing in the present moment rather than rehashing the past or imagining the future. When you become mindful, you realize that you are not your thoughts; you are simply the observer of your thoughts and this allows you to move from moment to moment without judgment. Mindfulness requires a certain presence with your thoughts and a practice of accepting them as they are, neither grasping at them nor pushing them away. So, instead of letting your life go by without living it, you awaken to experience. Most of us don't experience our thoughts in awareness and we allow our thoughts to control us. Environmental influences are very strong at moment and they may be having an enormous impact on our current state of being. Jon Kabat-Zinn, the biomedical scientist who introduced meditation into mainstream medicine says "Ordinary thoughts course through our mind like a deafening waterfall." In order to feel more in control of our minds and our lives we need to step out of this “current”, pause, and, as Kabat-Zinn puts it, "rest in stillness—to stop doing and focus on just being."

A woman practicing mindfulness in a desert

Mindful people are happier, more exuberant, more empathetic and more secure. They have higher self-esteem and are more accepting of their own weaknesses. Anchoring awareness in the here and now reduces the kinds of impulsivity and reactivity that underlie depression, binge eating, and lack of focus. Mindful people can hear negative feedback without feeling threatened or having the impulse to respond. Cultivating a nonjudgmental awareness of the present bestows a host of benefits such as a reduction of stress, a boost in immune function, the lowering of blood pressure, and a promotion of an overall state of well-being. Most of us don't experience our thoughts in awareness and we allow our thoughts to control us. Environmental influences are very strong at the moment and they may be having an enormous impact on our current state of being.

Here are 5 things you can do to help cultivate mindfulness:

1. Focus on Your Breath

Seems so simple but it's not merely commonsense advice. It reflects what meditation, yoga, and other stress-reducing therapies teach: that focusing on the timing and pace of our breath can have positive effects on our body and mind. A recent study in the Journal of Neurophysiology supports this theory, revealing that several brain regions linked to emotion, attention, and body awareness are activated when we pay attention to our breath. Use breath as your anchor, anytime you feel things are not in your control focus on your breath to bring you back to the present moment.

2. Develop Emotional Intelligence

This means being perceptive of the emotions you are experiencing, as well as those of people around you. It is the ability to notice these emotions without judgment or alteration. Emotionally aware individuals accept who they are because they understand that each person is different. This kind of awareness leads to greater love and compassion for the self as well as the others.

3. Mindful Eating Habits

Being mindful of the food you eat can promote better digestion, keep you full with less food, and influence wiser choices about what you eat in the future. Be mindful by asking yourself am I eating because I am hungry, or is there an emotional component I am trying to satisfy? Is this food nourishing my cells? How do I feel after I eat this food, am I energized, bloated, sluggish or feel guilty? Eating mindfully can help you free yourself from unhealthy habits around food and eating, it can also free yourself from negative thinking and judgment.

4. Mindfulness Meditation

Meditation does not only changes our mindset and perspective, it actually can change the shape of our brains. Generalized neuroimaging meditation studies found that 8 weeks of mindfulness meditation also changes our brains, rewiring them towards more positive thoughts and emotions. It is scientifically proven to lower our cortisol levels (stress hormones) and heal our DNA.

5. The Art of Acceptance

The mind's natural tendency when faced with pain is to attempt to avoid it—by trying to resist unpleasant thoughts, feelings, and sensations.

But in many cases, negative feelings and situations can't be avoided—and resisting them only magnifies the pain. The solution is acceptance—letting the emotion be there. That is, being open to the way things are in each moment without trying to manipulate or change the experience—without judging it, clinging to it, or pushing it away. The present moment can only be as it is. Trying to change it only frustrates and exhausts you. Acceptance relieves you of this needless extra suffering.

The time to be mindful is in the present. The now is where we gain immediate access to our own powerful inner resources for insight, transformation, and healing. At Vibrant Skin Bar we are mindful of the space we create for our patients and we have implemented a very high standards for patient safety through sanitation and protection. Out of the awareness of our patients needs we are constantly redesigning our treatment menu to ensure that our patients are receiving the best quality offerings and creating a healing space for them to receive them.

“Mindfulness is simply being aware of what is happening right now without wishing it were different; enjoying the pleasant without holding on when it changes (which it will); being with the unpleasant without fearing it will always be this way (which it won’t).”- James Baraz

Summer, Summer, Summertime!

Yes, summertime is a time to sit back, relax and enjoy all the outdoor activities, but it is not a time to relax on your skincare routine. Instead, summer is a time to add to your skins defense systems and to create a routine that will keep your skin looking youthful and fresh all season long. There are a few tips we would like to share with you to ensure your skin receives a healthy sun kissed glow this season without creating a cyclone of DNA damage that could be seen for years to come.

 1. You will need a good Physical Sunscreen – Not Chemical, A Physical Sunscreen!

Physical sunscreens, sometimes called mineral sunscreen or sunblock, contain zinc oxide to deflect UV rays. The pros of a physical sunblock are that there is no need to wait after application to go in the sun and that zinc is very healing to the skin. Zinc reduces inflammation and is less likely to clog the pores. Con’s of chemical sunscreens are that they contain certain risk factors such as skin irritation, skin inflammation and potential carcinogenic ingredients such as oxybenzone, octinoxate (octylmethoxycinnamate), homosalate, octisalate, octocrylene, and avobenzone, many of which are thought to be hormone and endocrine disruptors. Hormone and endocrine disruptors are scary because they can be harmful in small doses by mimicking the hormones that our body creates daily and interferes with everything from our reproductive system to our metabolism. They’re also particularly questionable for young children whose systems are rapidly developing. Please don’t forget to use sunscreen protection to protect your delicate lips, ears, scalp and the backs of your knees. The Vibe Tribes favorite physical sunscreen brands are Coola, Elta MD and Suntegrity.

2. Let’s set aside those heavy moisturizers and add an antioxidant serum to your regimen!

Second only to SPF an antioxidant serum is hands down the best thing you can put on your skin in the summer months. Many dermatologists are now recommending the dynamic duo by adding antioxidants serums under your SPF. Just think about it, your skin is bombarded by free radicals (from things like UV rays, blue rays, pollution, and stress), which damage your skin cells and, in turn, cause inflammation and deplete collagen and elastin levels. Antioxidants neutralize free radicals giving your skin an arsenal of protection.
Vibe Tribe favorite antioxidant serums include:
Osmosis MD Replenish – a serum that contains a pharmaceutical-grade delivery system to deliver 17 different antioxidants.
IS Clinical SUPER SERUM – a clinically proven formula that combines a 15% concentration L-ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) with a bio identical Copper Tripeptide Growth Factor.

3. Don’t over exfoliate and remove alpha hydroxy acids and retinols from your daily skincare routine.

Over-exfoliation can compromise your protective lipid barrier making your skin dry, irritated and more vulnerable to environmental damage. Vibe Tribes favorite sun-safe Vitamin A serum is: Osmosis MD Correct which contains a certain form of vitamin A, retinaldehyde, that is safe to use during pregnancy and in the sun.

4. Mineralize your water

Purified and distilled water is sometimes also referred to as “dead water” because it contains few to no minerals. Choosing Glacial or Spring water is a great way to make sure your water is mineral dense and if you feel the need to “spice it up” you can also make it into your favorite herbal Ice tea or add some herbs and fruit. Adding fruit to your water also adds antioxidants to naturally protect your skin! The Vibe Tribes favorite mineral waters include: Mountain Valley Spring Water and Icelandic Glacial Water.

Note: To find out more about how to take care of your skin during summer, make sure to read our article about eight summer skincare tips to protect your skin from heat and humidity.

5. Eat for the summer season

Eating foods that are in season is a great habit to get into because they typically taste better, they reduce your carbon footprint and they innately prepare your body for the challenges of the season. Summer foods are typically higher in water, antioxidants and minerals, which help your body endure and replenish in the summer heat. Super foods are a perfect addition to your summertime fun and a great way to achieve greater protection from the sun. Here is a list of some of the Vibe Tribes favorite Summer foods and an explanation of why they are so great:

Watermelon – watermelon is a natural sun-protector that is stacked with vitamin C and an antioxidant lycopene that successfully absorbs UV radiations.

Avocados – This super fruit is packed with vitamin E that hydrates the body and also acts as a shield to fight back sun's harmful effects.

Pomegranates – Pomegranates contain a high amount of anthocyanin, tannins, and anti-inflammatory compounds that negate the effects of harmful UVB rays.

Berries – Berries contain powerful antioxidants and a high amount of vitamin C, to minimize the damage caused by sun.

Oranges – Just like all other citrus fruits, it is most effective in combating serious skin disorders and diseases caused by the UV rays. The fruit has a vast nutrient profile containing vitamin E, vitamin C and limonene, a compound that keeps a check on cell degeneration.

Tomatoes – Tomatoes are a great source of the antioxidant lycopene, which helps protect the skin from damage from the sun and the environment.

Zucchini – This summer squash is high in manganese, a mineral that helps to fight off sun damage on your skin, aids in the production of collagen, which increases skin elasticity, and it can help fight off rashes from the heat and sun.

Pineapples – Along with vitamins and minerals, this tropical fruit contains bromelanin, thought to fight inflammation.

Nuts and seeds – Walnuts, hemp seeds, chia seeds, and flax all contain Omega 3 fatty acids that helps maintain your skin’s integrity and cope with the effects of the sun.

Carrots and leafy greens – Carrots and leafy greens like kale and spinach are great beta carotene- which is a natural source of Vitamin A, which is a potent anti-oxidant and reduces sun sensitivity. As we kick off the month of June, don’t forget to celebrate the season, the special fathers and father figures in our lives and your sunscreen!

“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” – Benjamin Franklin

How to Support Your Immune System

How can we make sure our immune system is in tip-top shape? How can we strengthen our immune system from the comfort of our own home? Everything you do all day is either helping or hurting the master circadian clock to synchronize body function. Setting a daily schedule that reinforces your body’s natural rhythm is the most powerful health habit you can adopt. Body temperature, hormone production, blood cell counts, BP, HR, Glycogen levels in the liver are all predictable with light-dark patterns.

Sleep

Get to sleep before 10:30 PM and wake up by 6:30 AM. Am I getting 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep at night when it's dark? Is your sleep environment encouraging uninterrupted sleep? Sound machines or white noise is a great way to encourage your body to go into a resting phase and decrease the amount of external disruptions. Cool room down to 73-75 degrees.

Water Consumption

Consume at least 5 ounces per pound or half your body weight in ounces daily. If you weigh 120 pounds drink at least 60 ounces per day. For those exercising, sweating or living in a dry climate as much as 10 ounces per pound is recommended with electrolyte balance. Consuming a salty snack and a food high in potassium such as a banana will allow the volume of water to be absorbed properly. Limit or avoid tap water and RO water when possible. Chlorine is a toxin and can accelerate the aging process and cause acne and rashes in the skin. Spring water and glacial water are the most energetically available forms of water and their natural mineral content create a very pleasing taste.

Timing of Meals

Eating the largest meal of the day mid-day when your digestive fire is at its peak will allow the body to effectively use nutrients in your food and burn calories while you are most active. It’s important to consume food only when it is light out. Your body’s internal clock is in tune with the light and dark cycles of your environment. The digestive tract slows down when the sun has set and consuming calories at this time can lead to digestive issues, weight gain and fatigue.

Diet

Fiber, fruits, veggies, limit refined sugar, meat, packaged foods. Daily consumption of Psyllium husk or soaked chia seeds is a great way to add fiber to your diet.

Sweat

Infrared Heat is a phenomenal way to increase circulation and allow your body to let go of things that no longer serve it. Our skin is our body’s largest detox organ and sweat is a healthy way to keep it

Tongue Scraping

Look at your tongue daily. Any coating indicates the presence of toxins in the body trying to flush from your system. Need to make changes in your diet so bacteria aren’t accumulating in your mouth on your tongue. Tongue Scraper loosens toxins and should be done first thing every morning. When you reduce plaque buildup you reset taste buds, retain taste and diminish bad food cravings. A 30 -day tongue picture log is recommended to document changes in diet.

Exercise

Early morning exercise supports healthy sleep cycles, weight and blood pressure. Glucose tolerance remains strong throughout the day so you can maintain healthy insulin levels. Early exercise primes the body to work optimally throughout the entire day.

The Power of Laughter

Laughing during a time like this can seem difficult and insensitive but it is actually one of the most important things humans can do during times of stress. Daily laughter supports our immune systems, reduces feelings of anxiety and depression, gives us a clearer mind space and allows us to connect with one another on a personal level. When we laugh we release endorphins and dopamine that makes us feel good and reduce the amount of circulating cortisol. Laughter also increases our pain tolerance and allows us to relieve feelings of danger.

Our PA Kristina Cadwell and her kids spend the last 10 minutes of their day going around in a circle telling jokes in bed after storytime. Listening to a 2-year-old tell knock-knock jokes is by far one of her favorite past times.

Other ways to incorporate laughter into your daily life are-choose a funny movie instead of a drama, virtually surround yourself with people that love to laugh and/or do a daily laughing meditation by sitting in a circle with your quarantine “family” or by yourself and laughing for 10minutes.  Laughter is the best medicine.

Happy Spring Equinox!

As winter turns to Spring, our bodies naturally crave cleansing and detoxifying. March 20th is spring equinox, which is the most powerful time of the year to detox our bodies.

The spring equinox is the point in the year at which the Earth’s axis begins to tilt towards the sun. It is the point where we move from the dark into the light and from the winter into the spring. We see signs of renewed life all around us as a result of the increased warmth and light.

Soon warmer weather will tempt us outdoors to play. Our lives will become more active and we can take advantage of this last bit of winter down time to clear out that which is weighing us down – both literally and figuratively. Here at Vibrant Skin Bar we have several modalities to help jump start your body.

FIT Infrared sweat wrap- helps the reduction of cellulite and promotes weight loss by helping the body release toxins and breakdown fat. During this treatment the body can burn up to 1500 calories using infrared heat to encourage the body to enter into a cool-down mode. This revving up of the metabolism will assist the kidneys and liver to detox accumulated toxins and metabolic waste through sweating. Since infrared heat penetrates 1 ½ – 2 inches deep into the skin, the treatment heats the body from the inside out to support the body’s fat reduction which may lead to weight loss.

CoolSculpting is a non-invasive body contouring treatment designed to target and destroy fat.  CoolSculpting works by using cooling energy to penetrate the dermis and destroy those stubborn fat cells that aren’t responding to your hard work. CoolSculpting is approved by the FDA, so you know it’s safe and effective.  Additionally, there’s no downtime or recovery associated with the procedure.  Add to the fact that it can lead up to 20% fat loss after a single treatment.

CoolTone is a FDA cleared muscle sculpting device that uses magnetic muscle stimulation, or MMS technology. This powerful magnet penetrates through your skin and fat layers to stimulate involuntary muscle contractions. With each contraction, the muscle strengthens and lengthens. Each treatment session is the equivalent to 20,000 sit ups or squats! CoolTone treatments can be used on your abdomen, buttocks and thighs. The treatment is great for both men and women seeking a more toned physique. A series of four treatments are recommended with a two-day rest period in between each treatment. Quarterly maintenance is required to maintain the newly toned muscle mass and individual results can vary. Spring into action and come and try a 2-minute demo and see what all of our patients are raving about!

Raise the Vibration!

Well? What exactly does it mean to raise your vibration? Your vibration is based on different energy levels: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Each of these levels has a vibrational frequency (speed), which combine to create your overall vibration of being. Emotions such as appreciation, joy and excitement are high vibrational frequencies. Feelings such as anger, frustration and guilt have a low vibrational frequency. When you are vibrating at a higher level, you feel lighter, happier, and more at ease, whereas lower vibrations feel heavy, dark, and confused. Negative thoughts lower our frequency on average 12 MHz. Positive thoughts raise our frequency on average 10 MHz.

A healthy body, from head to foot, typically has a frequency ranging from 62 to 78 MHz, while disease begins at 58 Hz. Robert O. Becker, M.D., the author of the book The Body Electric, validates that the human body has an electrical frequency and that much about a person’s health can be determined by it. Nikola Tesla said, “If you could eliminate certain outside frequencies that interfered in our bodies, we would have greater resistance toward disease”. Vibrational healing or vibrational medicine is a way of bringing all things back to balance and into its natural vibration by using – vibration!

Here at Vibrant Skin Bar we implement several modalities to help raise your vibration, from our loving front desk and staff and crystal infused water to non-toxic skincare products, Osmosis MD Harmonized Waters and our positive intentions for every treatment. The Signature Vibrant Skin Facial was created with the scientific principles of Vibrational Medicine, including a frequency enhanced medical grade facial, a sound healing ocean drum opening ceremony to send your brain waves into an Alpha (relaxed) state, a grounding foot bath with essential oils of orange and a tuning fork at the end to seal the treatment with the frequency of Love and DNA Repair, 528 MHZ.

As wonderful as it is to be in Vibrant Skin Bar, sometime you will need some tools at home to do on your own. Here are twelve ways to raise positive vibrations wherever you may be.

  1. Be conscious of your thoughts. Thoughts become things. Choose the good ones.
  2. Stay is the state of Gratitude. Gratitude is one of the quickest ways to amp up your vibration.
  3. Eat High-Vibe Food. Everything you consume is life force energy. If you eat a lot of “dead” energy (in the form of meat, fried, or processed food), you will lower your vibration. By eating nutrient-dense, local and organic fruits and vegetables, your body literally absorbs these wavelengths and you will become lighter, more vibrant, and feel more alive.
  4. Meditation. Turning inward for just 10 minutes will help to raise your vibration instantly so you can enjoy benefits without delay.
  5. High-Vibe Music, TV, Books, and Movies. Be sure your entertainment is of high vibration. The experience you have while reading or watching a show should be uplifting and happy not sad and depleting. Your body will release neurotransmitters that coincide with the experience. Take note of the type of language, music this can release or suppress cortisol and have a direct impact on your well-being.
  6. Have a Vibe Tribe.  Surround yourself with those who lift you higher.
  7. LOVE – the frequency of love is 528 MHZ. Love is one of the highest vibrating states of being and has the power to pull you out of even the deepest of ditches. Attune your heart to love and your energy will start to soar.
  8. Your Environment. Surround yourself with beautiful things, the right lighting or color can have a significant impact on your productivity and your mood. Look into Feng Shui to bring more energy to your space. Your surroundings have a big effect on how you feel on the inside and live your life.
  9. Detox. Detox your body and your life from negativity and toxins. This includes your skincare, if you are using chemical ingredients in your skincare and makeup it will lower your vibration. At Vibrant Skin Bar we use advanced mineral makeup that is free of toxins and will not only protect your skin from harmful rays but also charge your cells when the sun hits your face.
  10. Go for a walk in nature. This is a double-whammy for raising your vibration, exercise gets your heart pumping, sun on your face charges your pineal gland, and negative Ions of the ground flush out stress.
  11. Practice compassion and forgiveness. Forgiving and having compassion for someone who hurt you may be the hardest thing for you to do on this list, but it’s one of the most important! Thoughts of pain are low vibration while thoughts of forgiveness are high. Just by thinking thoughts of forgiveness about someone in your past without taking any action will raise your vibration.

2020 Vision for the New Year

This year, Vibrant Skin Bar Team has decided to start a new kind of New Year’s Resolution. We call it “Raise the Vibration.” We are dedicated to make this world a better place, one step at the time. This is why we will raise the vibration by giving to those who have less – money, time, resources, or whatever they need help with.

How do we do it?

Every month, a staff member will choose a charity of their choice for Vibrant Skin Bar to volunteer or contribute somehow!

We start off with our lovely Tina. Tina has chosen to do “WIRES Wildlife Rescue” to donate to Australia. Our hearts break at the sights of nature burning due to wildfires on this beautiful continent, and we want to help in a way that’s possible from an ocean away.

We have dedicated a week to do this. From January 27th to February 1st, we will donate $5 from each facial to WIRES Wildlife Rescue to help the wildlife affected by the fires in Australia.

If you too want to help, come in and do any facial in this period, so we can donate together!
